Bridges of Love and Kindness: Day 1
𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰—The Lions Club of Singapore Paterson, in cooperation with Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI), the Local Government of Lake Sebu, and the Municipality of T’boli, spearheaded a meaningful outreach program at Sitio Saging, Poblacion, T’boli, South Cotabato.
Around 200 members of the Indigenous People’s community received essential food packs, clothing, and warm meals for children, parents, and elders. Young children received toys designed to support their social, imaginative, and physical development, while adults and elderly individuals were provided with complete clothing sets, including head bonnets and blankets to help them through colder months.
One of the most heartfelt moments of the program was the celebration of three community members’ birthdays, marked by joyful gatherings and a vibrant performance of traditional T’boli cultural dances. These shared moments reminded everyone that kindness and cultural pride can bring people together in powerful ways.
More than a charitable initiative, this outreach became a celebration of culture, community building, and solidarity. Participants from HCCCI, the Lions Club of Singapore, and local government units engaged deeply with the T’boli residents—listening to their stories, sharing meals, and gaining a deeper appreciation of their customs and ways of life. Each team member returned home with a renewed commitment to continue supporting and empowering the IP communities of South Cotabato.
Over the next few days, the partnership will continue its mission by bringing additional support and capacity-building activities to the community. These include educational materials for learners, hygiene kits for families, and supplementary food packs for households with young children. HCCCI faculty and volunteers will also extend literacy and learning sessions for children, while specialists from the Lions Club of Singapore will introduce basic health awareness activities and nutritional guidance for parents.
The team will likewise bring school supplies, art and craft materials, and interactive learning tools to create a more engaging environment for young learners in Sitio Saging. For the wider community, HCCCI will conduct community-sharing circles and introduce simple livelihood enhancement demonstrations that may support small-scale household income opportunities. Through these continuing efforts, the collaboration aims to strengthen not only immediate support but also long-term resilience within the community.
Together, we continue to build an IP CommUNITY—one rooted in respect, shared learning, and genuine compassion.
Stay tuned for more updates on the activities conducted on October 5th and the succeeding days of engagement.
