SURALLAH, South Cotabato — Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI), in collaboration with Pitik South Cotabato, conducted Handuraw 2025: Photography and Videography Workshop, providing 50 participants with practical training in photography, videography, and visual storytelling. Open to all interested individuals, the initiative aimed to develop creative and digital competencies that aspiring entrepreneurs and community members can apply in promoting businesses, developing livelihood opportunities, and establishing an online presence.

The workshop recognized the growing importance of digital platforms in shaping consumer behavior and influencing purchasing decisions. As businesses increasingly rely on social media to showcase their products and services, the ability to produce engaging visual content has become a practical skill for individuals seeking to establish or strengthen their entrepreneurial ventures.

Through the collaboration with Pitik South Cotabato, participants were introduced to photography and videography techniques that can help communicate the quality, features, and value of products and services. The training emphasized the practical application of visual storytelling, particularly in creating content that captures audience attention and presents business offerings effectively.

For aspiring entrepreneurs, these competencies provide an accessible starting point for developing promotional materials without immediately depending on paid advertising or professional content production services. The ability to independently photograph products, create videos, and manage visual content can help small business owners strengthen their social media presence and reach potential customers.

Beyond business promotion, the skills acquired during the workshop may also serve as a foundation for freelance and self-employment opportunities. Participants can explore offering photography and videography services to small businesses, entrepreneurs, and other clients, allowing them to turn creative competencies into potential sources of additional income.

The participation of 50 individuals reflects the workshop's reach as an accessible learning opportunity for those interested in developing practical digital skills. By opening the training to interested members of the community, HCCCI extended opportunities for skills development beyond its immediate academic environment and made creative knowledge available to individuals with different entrepreneurial interests.

The initiative also demonstrates the role of educational institutions in supporting entrepreneurship through knowledge transfer and community-based training. While Handuraw 2025 did not provide direct start-up funding or formal business incubation, it addressed an important aspect of early-stage business development: the ability to promote products and services effectively in an increasingly digital marketplace.

In relation to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the initiative contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education by providing opportunities for practical, skills-based learning and lifelong skills development. It also supports SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by introducing competencies that participants may use to pursue freelance work, self-employment, and other income-generating opportunities. Furthermore, the collaboration with Pitik South Cotabato reflects SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, demonstrating how institutional and community partnerships can expand access to relevant learning opportunities.

The workshop reflects HCCCI's commitment to making education responsive to the practical needs of individuals and communities. It also demonstrates the institution's core values of Teamwork and Creativity through collaborative learning and the development of creative competencies, as well as Serviceability and Social Responsibility through the provision of accessible training beyond the classroom.

Through initiatives such as Handuraw 2025, HCCCI continues to recognize the importance of equipping individuals with skills that respond to emerging economic and technological opportunities. By connecting creative learning with practical applications in business promotion and livelihood development, the institution contributes to building a community better prepared to participate in the digital economy.
