The signing ceremony, held at the HCCCI campus, marked a momentous occasion in the journey toward building a community that values learning, culture, and literacy.

The agreement includes initiatives such as Community Book Rotation, Wider Reading Programs, Book Nook Mobility, and scheduled visits to the Book Nook site, ensuring that a broader range of learners can benefit from these programs.

The event was spearheaded by key figures from HCCCI, including School President Marivet S. Caballero, Executive Vice President Vanessa Marie L. Antiquin, MMEM, School Principal Lowel D. Pasinag, LPT, MMEM, and Jack Robin A. Lacerna, MMEM, the Book Nook Area Coordinator. Their collective commitment to the vision of the Book Nook project highlighted HCCCI’s dedication to empowering the local community through literacy programs.

Representing LGU Surallah, Municipal Administrator Sir Benjie Datinguinoo signed the partnership on behalf of Municipal Mayor Hon. Pedro M. Matinong, Jr. Also present was Melona Barrientos, the ECCD Focal Person, who emphasized the project’s potential impact on the municipality, particularly in providing reading materials to marginalized sectors.

Hon. Carlo Ebeo, the National Project Coordinator from the National Book Development Board (NBDB), also attended the event and underscored the importance of collaboration between academic institutions and local governments in ensuring the success of community-driven educational programs like the Book Nook.

This partnership between Book Nook Surallah, HCCCI, and LGU Surallah stands as a powerful testament to the shared vision of these organizations in promoting education, culture, and inclusive access to knowledge. The Book Nook project aims not only to cultivate a new generation of readers but also to strengthen the social fabric of the community by nurturing a love for learning.
