Demonstrating compassion in action, Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) joined the “BAYANIHAN” Medical, Mental Health, Feeding, and Relief Gift-Giving Program on October 16–17, 2025, to aid the earthquake survivors from Davao and Manay. The event was a public outreach program in partnership with the Association of Medical Doctors of Asia (AMDA) Japan and AMDA Philippines, uniting educational, military, and civic institutions.

The program aimed to bring holistic care to survivors through medical checkups, psychological first aid, feeding, and relief distribution. It highlighted HCCCI’s proactive engagement in community recovery and its mission to uphold social responsibility through service.

Dr. Erwin M. Faller, Academic Director and representative of the College of Allied Health Sciences, and Mr. Rodelo Magtanong, Jr., Marketing Coordinator, led the HCCCI delegation. Dr. Faller carried relief goods on behalf of the College of Allied Health Sciences as part of the team’s humanitarian effort.

The outreach was further strengthened by the participation of the Philippine Air Force, Army, local police of Manay, LGU of Manay, and local responders, who worked together to assist residents in rebuilding their lives.

This collaborative mission embodied the goals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly Zero Hunger (SDG2), Good Health and Well-being (SDG3), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG17)— fostering empathy, compassion, and shared responsibility among partners and strengthening international cooperation and demonstrating how collective action can effectively build resilience and sustainability in times of disaster.

Through this initiative, the community experienced solidarity and hope as lives were rebuilt and strengthened. The program also demonstrated the transformative power of education in fostering compassion and humanitarian action.

As part of its enduring mission, HCCCI remains steadfast in promoting community involvement and service, living out its core values of compassion, commitment, and excellence.

At its heart, it stands as a nurturing force in education—uplifting communities and cultivating hope through empathy, knowledge, and genuine care.
