This year's theme, โ€œFuture-Proofing Society: Interdisciplinary Solutions to Bridge Ecosystems and Health,โ€ highlighted innovative approaches to tackling pressing challenges in food safety, health, and sustainability.

Proudly representing Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc., Ms. Danica May R. Beldeniza, Mr. Joffer Ian M. Ecalne, and Ms. Victoria G. Guerra, under the guidance of their esteemed research adviser, Dr. Rogelio D. Rasay III, were acknowledged and given the opportunity to expose in the international scene their impactful study titled: โ€œFood Safety Knowledge, Attitude, and Hygiene Practices of Street-Cooked Food Handlers.โ€

This research carries profound significance on both local and global scales. Locally, it sheds light on the critical role of street food vendors in public health, as street-cooked meals are a staple for many communities in the Philippines. Ensuring food safety not only protects consumers but also strengthens the livelihood of food handlers by promoting trust and adherence to proper hygiene practices.

Internationally, their study underscores the universal importance of improving food safety in informal sectors, particularly in urban areas where street food plays a crucial role in daily life. As cities across the globe face challenges tied to globalization and urbanization, research like this provides actionable insights that can inspire policy reforms and community-driven solutions.

The team emphasized that interventions such as sanitation and packaging training are vital in this fast-paced, interconnected world. By equipping street food handlers with knowledge and skills, we can contribute to a healthier society while fostering economic empowerment and cultural preservation.

This remarkable achievement places Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. on the international academic map, showcasing the potential of local research to make a global impact. Letโ€™s celebrate our Holinians for their outstanding contributions to shaping safer and healthier communities worldwide!
