Making the World Our Campus: HCCCI’s Global Vision Takes Flight

In the first semester of 2024, Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) achieved a remarkable milestone in internationalization, creating 3,245 global learning experiences—more than the total student population! This demonstrates that almost every student has had multiple opportunities to connect, collaborate, and thrive on the global stage.

A major highlight for the semester was student and faculty mobility across Asia. HCCCI participants engaged in immersive learning and professional exchanges in Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Korea, gaining hands-on experience in international education, research, and cross-cultural collaboration. These mobility programs have helped equip both students and faculty with practical skills, intercultural competencies, and global perspectives that enhance the quality of teaching and learning locally.

Simultaneously, HCCCI expanded its Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) programs, linking students and faculty virtually with partners in Philadelphia (USA), Hawaii (USA), Venezuela, Thailand, and other countries. Through these virtual exchanges, students collaborated on joint projects, explored comparative studies, and engaged in intercultural dialogue—bringing international experiences into the classroom without leaving Mindanao.

During this period, HCCCI strengthened its network of 45 international and national partnerships, building bridges across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. These initiatives have not only broadened academic and professional horizons but also fostered sustainability awareness, global citizenship, and alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

All of these accomplishments were made possible with the support of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) iLab Grant, which provided the resources and guidance to implement innovative, internationally collaborative programs. The CHED International Affairs Services (CHED IAS) ensured that HCCCI’s programs meet international standards, while CHED Regional Office XII (CHEDRO 12) offered continued support to help small institutions like HCCCI push boundaries and bring global education closer to local communities.

Be part of this journey. Go global or go home—wait, why not make the world your home?
