Science Month Celebration "KaSCIEyahan" 2022: Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for Sustainable Future

In the words of Jochen Zeitz, "Sustainability is no longer about doing no harm; it is about doing more good." Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. is one of the schools that celebrated Science Month last September 30, 2022, with the theme: 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘈𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘯 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘛𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘚𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦. KaSCIEyahan comes from the Filipino word "Kasayahan," which means Festivity in English. It is an annual event aiming to showcase pupils' and students' talents and skills in innovation and discovery. The event also enables pupils and students to enjoy science concepts and engage them on scientific issues. There are four different activities for KaSCIEyahan 2022. These are the following:

• Science Trivia

• Science Quiz Bee

• Earth Photography Day

• Science Exhibit

The first activity was Science Trivia. The Science Trivia was open to everybody, and students answered the most common knowledge questions about Science. Holinians from Elementary to Senior High School have tested their knowledge in different branches of Science through the Science Quiz Bee. The following were the winners of the Science Quiz Bee:

• Elementary: Grade 5 - Respect

• Junior High School: Grade 9 - Love

• Senior High School: Grade 12 - ABM & STEM

The Science Quiz Bee helps them to test, enhance and develop their knowledge in Science. Aside from equipping them with further knowledge about different science concepts, a vital part of being a student involves recognizing how you can express yourself. With this, Earth Photography Day was conducted. This event allows them to celebrate Earth Day by taking environmental photographs that must be related to the theme. Grade 12 HUMSS was the winner. The official photos were posted on this page. The highlight of KaSCIEyahan 2022 was the Science Exhibit. Pupils and students showed their knowledge and eagerness in their Science Exhibit presentation. It was fun and also educational. Albert Einstein once said, "𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝘊𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘹𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨.
