ππ‘π ππππ π ππ¬ π ππ’π«π«π¨π«: HCCCI & SNCFI Students Witness the Power of Filipino Theater
In an afternoon marked by powerful emotions and cultural reflection, students from Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) and Santo Nino College Foundation, Inc. (SNCFI) were immersed in the world of Filipino theater through Pangalawang Palapag, staged at the KCC Mall of Marbel.
The production, masterfully brought to life by Apat sa Taglamig Theater Production, was not just a showβit was a profound experience. The performance peeled back layers of society, emotion, and identity, offering the audience a window into the complexities of Filipino life through raw storytelling and symbolic imagery.
From the first light cue to the final bow, Pangalawang Palapag held its audience in a collective breath. Its themes resonated deeply: family, trauma, resilience, and the quiet battles fought within households and communities. Each scene unfolded like a mirror, reflecting truths often left unspoken yet widely felt.
For many students, this was their first time witnessing a live play of such caliberβand the impact was immediate. Gasps, silent tears, and heartfelt applause painted the theater with sincere connection and respect. It was more than entertainment; it was education through emotion.
βTheater like this teaches us not just to watch, but to listenβto our stories, our struggles, and our shared humanity,β shared one HCCCI student after the show.
The collaboration between HCCCI and SNCFI in this cultural exposure highlights a growing commitment to arts appreciation and holistic learning. By stepping into the world of stagecraft, students were able to engage not only with the art form but with the social realities it portrayedβan experience that strengthens both critical thinking and empathy.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the organizers and Apat sa Taglamig for making this event possible, and for reminding us all that theater is not merely a performance, but a conversationβone that must be heard, felt, and carried forward.
As the curtains fell, one thing became clear: the stage had changed more than just charactersβit had changed hearts.
