In partnership with The Book Nook Surallah of the National Book Development Board, the Book Lovers Club successfully conducted the Book Lovers Club Training Camp 2026, an overnight activity held on February 6โ7, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The activity brought together enthusiastic club members for a meaningful night filled with learning, creativity, fellowship, and collaboration.
The training camp officially opened on the evening of February 6 with a Story Making Workshop facilitated by the esteemed resource speaker Mrs. Juliet C. Arellano-Castaรฑas, LPT, MAEd. During the session, she shared valuable insights on crafting compelling stories, highlighting essential elements such as character development, plot structure, setting, creativity, and meaningful storytelling. Students actively participated and gained a deeper appreciation of stories as powerful tools for self-expression and imagination.
This was followed by a Painting Workshop mentored by Sir Ronito R. Subaldo, where students were introduced to basic painting techniques, proper color blending, and creative composition. The participants displayed focus, enthusiasm, and dedication throughout the workshop, which was evident in their impressive artworksโeach piece reflecting creativity, effort, and newly acquired skills.
After a productive afternoon, the students enjoyed dinner, followed by a series of team-building activities. Fun and interactive games strengthened camaraderie, teamwork, and sportsmanship among the members. Laughter and cooperation filled the atmosphere as bonds were formed and friendships deepened.
The evening continued with a storytelling session and a relaxing movie marathon, allowing students to enjoy meaningful stories and quality time together, making the overnight experience even more memorable.
As the morning of February 7 arrived, the participants energized themselves with a lively Zumba session, performed with enthusiasm and excitement. This was followed by a solemn and heartfelt Praise and Worship led by Maโam Charlene Joy T. Saligumba. During this meaningful activity, the students experienced a sense of peace, gratitude, and spiritual connection and were deeply moved as they internalized messages of faith, unity, and purpose.
After the worship activity, the students were given the opportunity to share their experiences, reflections, and lessons learned throughout the training camp. They expressed appreciation for the activities, the speakers, and the opportunity to grow creatively, socially, and personally during the overnight program.
