The Book Nook–Surallah, proudly housed at Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI), expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the National Book Development Board – Philippines (NBDB) for granting the 2024 Book Nook Package, a recognition that reaffirms its steadfast commitment to literacy, inclusive education, and community development.

As one of the selected Book Nook sites in both 2021 and 2022, the Surallah hub has consistently demonstrated excellence in program implementation, reporting, and community engagement. This new acknowledgment stands as a testament to the team’s dedication and the meaningful impact of its initiatives in promoting reading and lifelong learning among children, youth, and families.

The Book Nook program of the NBDB aims to establish safe and accessible community reading spaces across the country, particularly in areas where access to books and learning resources remains limited. Through the support and resources provided by the NBDB, HCCCI’s Book Nook–Surallah continues to serve as a welcoming space that encourages curiosity, creativity, and collaboration through books and storytelling.

Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) – Quality Education, this initiative strengthens the institution’s mission to provide inclusive, equitable, and lifelong learning opportunities for all. The 2024 Book Nook Package will expand the center’s collection of books and learning materials, enhancing access for students, teachers, and the general public. It will also support outreach activities, reading sessions, and literacy workshops that aim to inspire young learners and cultivate a culture of reading in Surallah and neighboring communities.
