Empowering Civic Responsibility: Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. Strengthens Community Ties Through Clean-Up Drive Initiative
In its continuing commitment to sustainability and civic responsibility, Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) proudly participated in the Massive Clean-Up Drive spearheaded by the Municipal Government of Surallah, South Cotabato on July 25, 2025. This initiative aligns with the school’s long-standing tradition of community extension and partnership-building with local government units (LGUs), reaffirming its role as a socially responsible academic institution.
Guided by the municipal directive under Memorandum Order No. M-061, Series of 2025, HCCCI mobilized a robust delegation of students and faculty members from its Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) and Bachelor of Science in Criminology (BSCRIM) programs. A total of 86 students actively participated—15 first-year and 9 second-year BSHM students, along with 39 first-year and 23 second-year BSCRIM students—contributing their time and energy to this vital environmental cause.
These future professionals were not alone. The initiative was strongly supported by HCCCI’s faculty and staff, including Ms. Grasya Lumba (BSHM Faculty and Community Extension Services Coordinator), Mr. Rodney Sumugat (BSCRIM Faculty), and Mr. Kirby Barrega (Campus Safety Officer), who helped lead and guide the students in fulfilling their civic duties.
This collaborative effort between HCCCI and the LGU not only supported the environmental cleanliness campaign but also served as a platform to instill values of volunteerism, environmental stewardship, and community partnership among the students. It reflects the institution’s vision of producing graduates who are not only academically equipped but also socially and morally grounded.
By integrating civic engagement into student life, Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. upholds its mission to foster holistic development and contribute meaningfully to the community—one clean-up drive at a time.
