Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI), in partnership with Lions Club of Singapore Paterson and a network of institutional, corporate, civic, and community partners, extended humanitarian assistance to over 2,000 families in Badian, Cebu, on October 9, 2026, under the theme โ€œNourish Today, Empower Tomorrow.โ€ The initiative, held at the Badian Covered Court, provided food packs and essential goods to families while extending support to 13 healthcare institutions across Cebu through donations of hospital beds, wheelchairs, and walking frames.

The outreach brought together partners from the education sector, private industry, nonprofit organizations, civic groups, and local government to mobilize resources for community welfare. By addressing household needs alongside the resource requirements of healthcare facilities, the initiative demonstrated how coordinated humanitarian action can extend assistance to both families and institutions serving local communities.

At the Badian Covered Court, families received food packs and other donated goods, including toys, kitchenware, and books. These provisions offered practical support for household needs and reflected the partnersโ€™ shared commitment to making essential resources accessible to the community.

The humanitarian effort also extended to 13 healthcare institutions across Cebu, which received donations of hospital beds and mobility equipment intended to support patient care and mobility. The recipient institutions were Pinamungalan District Hospital, Camotes District Hospital, Bantayan District Hospital, Badian District Hospital, Bogo District Hospital, Sogod District Hospital, Danao Provincial Hospital, Barili District Hospital, Oslob District Hospital, Carcar District Hospital, Isidro C. Kintanar Memorial Hospital, Tuburan District Hospital, and Balamban District Hospital.

The combination of household assistance and hospital equipment donations reflected the breadth of the initiative. While food packs and essential goods addressed immediate family needs, the medical beds, wheelchairs, and walking frames were intended to help healthcare facilities serve patients in their respective communities. Together, these contributions represented a coordinated effort to direct humanitarian resources where they could provide practical support.

The activity was made possible through the contributions and participation of Lions Club of Singapore Paterson, Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc., Santo Nino College Foundation, Inc., New Hope School of Agriculture and Fishery, Inc., Classify Inc., Clinic Genie, Heart of Compassion Incorporated, Hock Seng Food Inc., the Municipality of Badian, the Provincial Government of Cebu, the Philippine Pharmacists Association, Rell and Renn, Pocari Sweat, Simply Share Foundation, The Aixin Troppers, Three Star Brand โ€” Modernizing Traditional Remedies Since 1927, Ette Bright Intl Pte Ltd, Goh Yeow Seng, Lancashire Marketing, Project Cinderella, and Vinta Trading Company. Their collective involvement helped bring together the resources and support needed to reach families and healthcare institutions across Cebu.

For HCCCI, the outreach reflects its commitment to Serviceability and Social Responsibility, one of the institutionโ€™s STAIRS core values. Through CommunNekta, its community engagement initiative, HCCCI connects institutional relationships, partner contributions, and shared resources with opportunities for meaningful service beyond the campus. Working alongside Lions Club of Singapore Paterson and other contributors, HCCCI continues to support collaborative efforts that respond to community needs through concrete action.

The initiative also aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2: Zero Hunger, through the distribution of food packs; SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, through the provision of hospital beds and mobility equipment; SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, through efforts to extend assistance to families and healthcare institutions; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through cooperation among educational institutions, businesses, civic organizations, and government partners.

The Badian outreach builds on the continuing humanitarian partnership between HCCCI and Lions Club of Singapore Paterson. HCCCI is grateful for the Clubโ€™s sustained commitment to service and considers it a privilege to work alongside an organization that continues to bring partners together in support of communities. Through the shared mission of โ€œNourish Today, Empower Tomorrow,โ€ the partners demonstrated how cooperation can translate into practical assistance for families and healthcare institutions alike.
