Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) reaffirmed its commitment to advancing public health research and collaboration as it actively participated in the 2nd Public Health Research Forum organized by the Department of Health โ€“ Center for Health Development SOCCSKSARGEN Region on March 17โ€“18, 2026 at Greenleaf Hotel, General Santos City.

The two-day forum, spearheaded by the DOH Health Promotion Unit, served as a vital platform for knowledge exchange among health experts, researchers, and academic institutions. It highlighted emerging studies and evidence-based practices across critical public health areas, including infectious diseases, public health emergencies, disaster risk reduction and management, HIV/AIDS, vaccination, diagnostics and treatment innovations, health and regulatory impact assessments, nutrition, sustainable food systems, and health communication.

Representing HCCCI in this significant gathering were its research and academic leaders: the Director for Research, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, and a faculty member from the College of Nursing. Their presence reflected the institutionโ€™s growing role in contributing to meaningful, research-driven solutions to pressing health challenges in the region.

In a formal invitation signed by Director Aristides Concepcion Tan, the DOH underscored the importance of the forum in strengthening collaboration among government agencies, academic institutions, and health professionals. The event not only showcased timely and relevant studies but also created opportunities for dialogue that support evidence-informed policymaking and responsive health programs.

HCCCIโ€™s participation highlights its continuing efforts to bridge academic research with real-world public health needs. By engaging with key stakeholders, the institution seeks to further enhance its research capacity, foster innovation, and contribute to building resilient and health-responsive communities across SOCCSKSARGEN.

This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), as it promotes improved health outcomes through research, strengthens education through knowledge integration, and reinforces multi-sectoral partnerships essential for sustainable development.
