Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI), through its Basic Education Department, implemented a structured and comprehensive School Nutrition Program that actively engaged school administrators, faculty members, learners, parents, and partner stakeholders. The initiative was publicly recognized during Pasidungog 2025, held on December 22, 2025, at the Municipality of Surallah, South Cotabato.

The recognition formed part of Pasidungog 2025, an annual awarding ceremony organized by the Local Government Unit of Surallah that honors institutions demonstrating excellence in education, governance, and child welfare. The event celebrates programs that uphold child-friendly standards while creating meaningful and lasting contributions to community development.

This recognition reflects the collective efforts of the HCCCI Elementary Department, school administrators, program coordinators, parents, and learners, in close collaboration with local government offices and partner agencies. Their shared commitment and coordinated action were instrumental in ensuring the effective, consistent, and sustainable implementation of the program.

The School Nutrition Program is designed to promote proper nutrition, instill healthy eating habits, and support the overall well-being of learners. It integrates regular feeding interventions, nutrition education, health monitoring, and values formation, creating a nurturing environment that supports both physical development and academic readiness.

Anchored on the Sustainable Development Goals, the initiative directly advances SDG 2: Zero Hunger by addressing child malnutrition and food insecurity at the school level, ensuring that learners have access to adequate and nutritious meals. It likewise supports SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being by strengthening preventive health practices and promoting lifelong habits that contribute to physical wellness. The program also reinforces SDG 4: Quality Education, recognizing that healthy learners are better equipped to attend school regularly, engage meaningfully in learning, and achieve positive educational outcomes. Additionally, the initiative embodies SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, as it thrives on strong collaboration between the school, local government units, families, and partner agencies, demonstrating how collective action enhances the sustainability and reach of child-centered initiatives.

By improving learnersโ€™ physical well-being, the program contributes to increased school attendance, heightened learning engagement, and greater awareness among families on the importance of proper nutrition. Its impact extends beyond the classroom, fostering shared responsibility and encouraging nutrition-sensitive practices that can be replicated by other educational institutions and communities.

Moving forward, HCCCI remains committed to expanding inclusive and sustainable initiatives that support holistic learner development and strengthen community partnerships. Guided by its core values, the institution continues to align its programs with global development goals while responding to local needs.

With this milestone, HCCCI reaffirms its role as a child-centered and socially responsible educational institution, steadfast in its mission to nurture healthy, values-driven learners and to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of education and community well-beingโ€”both locally and in support of global sustainable development efforts.
