The spirit of Halloween came alive at Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) last October 29, 2025, as the Basic EducationโElementary Department transformed the day into a colorful world of creativity, laughter, and community through its Halloween Trick-or-Treat and Costume Celebration.

The day was filled with joy as pupils came to school in their most imaginative costumesโfrom fairytale characters and heroes to spooky favorites and clever, homemade outfits. Classrooms and offices turned into welcoming spaces where children could explore, interact, and express themselves freely. As students went trick-or-treating across different classrooms and offices, they were met with warm smiles and encouragement from teachers, staff, and administrators who eagerly joined the fun.

More than a day of fun and sweets, the celebration was a reminder of the schoolโs commitment to holistic education and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)โespecially SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.

Through the event, HCCCI promoted not just happiness but social and emotional well-being, recognizing the importance of creating joyful and inclusive learning spaces where children feel safe, valued, and confident. Activities like trick-or-treating and costume-sharing also encouraged communication skills, creativity, and teamwork, contributing to lifelong learning and personal growth among young learners.

Teachers took the opportunity to remind students about the values of kindness, gratitude, and respect, showing that learning can happen beyond the classroom walls. The Halloween celebration became a reflection of how HCCCI integrates play and learning to build a supportive and sustainable school communityโone that values cultural expression, child-centered education, and genuine human connection.

The event concluded with group photos, laughter, and games that celebrated every childโs unique imagination and spirit. For many students, it was not just about wearing costumes or collecting treatsโit was about feeling part of a family that celebrates both learning and life.

Indeed, the October 29 celebration embodied HCCCIโs mission to make education meaningful and transformative, where even small classroom moments contribute to global goals and brighter futures.
