Jakarta, IndonesiaβFollowing HCCCIβs participation in the Higher Education Partnership Conference (HEPCON) 2025, the Philippine delegation, led by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) through Commissioner Dr. Desiderio R. Apag III, visited BINUS University at its Alam Sutera Campus on September 25, 2025.
The delegation was warmly received by Dr. Rini Setiowati, Vice Rector for Collaboration & Global Engagement of BINUS University, who shared the universityβs initiatives in innovation, international engagement, and student-centered learning. Commissioner Apag highlighted the value of academic exchanges between the Philippines and Indonesia, stressing that such visits provide opportunities to learn from regional models of excellence in higher education.
The Philippine delegation included representatives from CHED, the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Jakarta, and various universities: Mr. Cyrus Paolo Buenafe, Ms. Jesusa Rocel S. Estanislao, CDA Gonaranao B. Musor, Ms. Maricar S. Yambao, Dr. Ariezza Lynne F. Maramot, Mr. Juniffer B. Badoles, Mr. Englevert P. Reyes, and Dr. Czarina Ancella Gabi.
Representing Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) were Executive Vice President Vanessa Marie L. Antiquin, MMEM, and Engr. Edicio M. Faller, Designate IT and Robotics Consultant. Their participation emphasized HCCCIβs commitment to international benchmarking, particularly in strengthening programs under the ORBIT (Opportunities for Reskilling, Bridging, Internationalization, and Training) initiative.
The visit centered on discussions about best practices in internationalization, academic innovation, research culture, and campus development. While exploratory in nature, the exchange supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by encouraging knowledge-sharing and regional cooperation in higher education.
The engagement concluded with a tour of BINUS facilities, offering the delegation insights into modern learning spaces, research hubs, and student innovation centers that may inform future strategies in Philippine institutions.
