Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) School President Marivet S. Caballero represented the institution at the 36th Annual European Association for International Education (EAIE) Conference and Exhibition, bringing HCCCIโ€™s institutional presence into one of the international higher education communityโ€™s major gatherings held September 8โ€“11, 2026, in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom.

Caballeroโ€™s participation placed HCCCIโ€™s leadership in direct conversation with higher education professionals, institutions, and organizations from different countries, creating opportunities to exchange perspectives, introduce HCCCIโ€™s initiatives, and explore areas for future academic and institutional cooperation.

Carrying the theme โ€œThe Rhythm of Revolution,โ€ EAIE 2026 provided a platform for higher education professionals to discuss emerging developments in international education, share institutional practices, and build professional connections. For HCCCI, the conference served as an opportunity not only to establish connections but also to listen to international perspectives that may inform the institutionโ€™s continuing development.

As School President, Caballero represented HCCCI alongside its internationalization representatives, contributing an institutional leadership perspective to conversations on international education. Her presence complemented the Collegeโ€™s broader engagement throughout the conference, allowing HCCCI to present its initiatives and priorities through a more unified institutional presence.

HCCCIโ€™s participation was particularly significant as the only Philippine institution participating in EAIE 2026 and as a member of the Fรฉdรฉration Europรฉenne des ร‰coles (FEDE). Through these networks, HCCCI has gained access to wider international conversations and opportunities to connect with institutions and organizations beyond the Philippines.

Throughout the conference, HCCCI engaged with representatives from various higher education institutions and international education organizations. These interactions provided opportunities to share the Collegeโ€™s work in internationalization, COIL, academic exchange, and institutional partnerships while learning from different approaches to international education.

The value of Caballeroโ€™s participation extends beyond the four-day conference. International exposure at the leadership level provides perspectives that can be brought back to institutional planning, academic initiatives, faculty and student opportunities, and future partnerships. Connections established through the conference may likewise serve as starting points for academic exchange, collaborative programs, research engagement, and other forms of institutional cooperation.

The engagement contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education through the exchange of educational knowledge and practices; SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities by expanding participation in international education networks and cross-cultural learning; SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions through institutional dialogue and professional exchange; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through relationships that can develop into future collaboration.

For HCCCI, having its School President present at EAIE 2026 represents more than institutional visibility. It reflects the importance of leadership engagement in internationalizationโ€”being present in relevant conversations, learning from peers across different contexts, and identifying opportunities that can create value for the institution and its wider academic community.

Through Caballeroโ€™s participation, HCCCI continues to bring its institutional identity beyond South Cotabato while strengthening the connections, knowledge, and opportunities that can be brought back home.
