Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCC7โ, the event aimed to collect safe and voluntary blood donations to help patients in need while promoting health consciousness, compassion, and social responsibility within the academic community.
The activity successfully gathered 24 faculty and staff donors and 37 student donors, resulting in a total of 61 bags of blood collected. The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) department supported the initiative by sponsoring food for donors and volunteers, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the drive.
The program emphasized the importance of voluntary blood donation as a meaningful act of service to others. It highlighted that education goes beyond academic instruction and extends to active participation in humanitarian and community-centered initiatives.
The Blood Donation Drive is primarily aligned with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, as it directly contributes to a safe and sufficient blood supply essential for medical care. It also supports SDG 4: Quality Education by providing experiential learning that fosters empathy, health awareness, and civic responsibility among students. The collective participation of the academic community reflects SDG 11: Sustainable Communities, while the collaboration between HCCCI and the Philippine Red Cross demonstrates SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
Through this initiative, the institution strengthened health support systems by extending life-saving assistance to those in need and by nurturing individuals who embody compassion and service beyond the campus environment.
Participants shared feelings of fulfillment and pride, expressing that the experience gave them deeper purpose, knowing that their voluntary act could help save lives and bring hope to others.
Through initiatives such as the Blood Donation Drive, the HCCCI community continues to stand as bearers of hope, partners in humanity, and stewards of service, proving that education finds its highest meaning in saving lives and serving others.
