Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) reaffirmed its dedication to advancing transformative teacher education through its active participation in the Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators (PAFTE) Region XII Seminar-Workshop held on October 4, 2025, at the KCC Convention Center, General Santos City. Anchored on the theme โBuilding Smart and Caring Classrooms: Empowering Future Educators with AI, Positive Discipline, and Restorative Practices,โ the seminar aimed to prepare future educators with the values, digital literacy, and human-centered skills essential for the evolving demands of 21st-century education.
Representing HCCCI were the Holinian Pre-Service Teachers, led by Prof. Mark Laurence J. Fano, Dean of the College of Teacher Education, together with CTE Professors and Instructors Prof. John Rey A. Tresbe, LPT, Mr. Roweno B. Cadon Jr., and Mrs. Jessa Marie C. Napilay, LPT. The HCCCI delegation joined educators and student-teachers from across Region XII in a transformative learning experience that integrated artificial intelligence (AI), positive discipline, and restorative practices into modern classroom management and instruction.
For pre-service teachers, this engagement was more than just a seminarโit was an investment in their professional and moral formation as future nation-builders. As they prepare to enter the teaching profession, exposure to AI-driven pedagogy enables them to harness technology for personalized learning, inclusive education, and efficient assessment practices. At the same time, sessions on positive discipline and restorative practices deepen their understanding of educational empathy, guiding them to create classrooms that are both intellectually stimulating and emotionally safe. These approaches train future teachers to lead with compassion, to see behavior as an opportunity for growth, and to nurture each learnerโs dignity and potential.
The event also served as a platform for collaboration among teacher education institutions across Region XII, encouraging the exchange of ideas and innovative practices. It empowered HCCCIโs pre-service teachers to envision education not merely as instruction, but as transformation, where digital innovation coexists with emotional intelligence, and where technology is used not to replace, but to enhance, human connection.
HCCCIโs active participation in PAFTE XII 2025 stands as a testament to its unwavering commitment to excellence, adaptability, and ethical leadership in teacher preparation. By developing educators who are both technologically adept and value-driven, the institution continues to nurture a new generation of teachers who will guide learners through a world shaped by innovation, inclusivity, and empathy.
This initiative reflects HCCCIโs strong alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4: Quality Education)โensuring inclusive, equitable, and quality learning opportunities for allโand SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, which upholds peacebuilding, respect, and restorative discipline in educational settings.
Through this milestone, Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. continues to advance its vision of producing educators who not only teach with knowledge and skill but also inspire with heart and integrity in empowering future generations and transforming education into a force for a more just, compassionate, and progressive society.
