The activity aimed to provide timely support and foster positive social engagement among children and families in the community. Designed as a Christmas outreach initiative, the program combined gift distribution with interactive activities intended to promote well-being, inclusion, and shared community participation.
The event was attended by HCCCI administrators, faculty members, staff, and student volunteers, as well as representatives from the Smile Kabataan Organization. Their participation reflected coordinated efforts by educational and civic groups to deliver community-based services.
ALAY-NGITI forms part of HCCCI’s continuing outreach initiatives that emphasize holistic community engagement. The program integrates material support with social interaction, underscoring the role of educational institutions in addressing social needs through organized service activities.
The outreach activity aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal 1 (No Poverty) through immediate assistance, Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) by providing food-related support to beneficiaries, Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) through positive social interaction, Goal 4 (Quality Education) via experiential learning for student volunteers, and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through institutional collaboration.
By engaging multiple stakeholders, the event strengthened community ties and encouraged civic participation. Such initiatives contribute to sustained social cooperation by fostering volunteerism, shared responsibility, and institutional presence within the community.
Volunteers and organizers reported a sense of fulfillment following the activity, citing the children's and families' positive responses as an affirmation of the program’s objectives. The experience was described as reinforcing awareness of community needs and the importance of service-oriented initiatives.
HCCCI continues to prioritize service programs anchored in its core values. These principles guide the institution’s ongoing efforts to provide meaningful opportunities for community engagement.
