In celebration of National Arts Month, Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. joined the National Art Camp 2026, spearheaded by the LGU Surallah through its Tourism, Art, and Culture Development Center, held on February 23 to 24, 2026, at NJDR Garden, Purok Magsaysay, Barangay Dajay, Surallah, South Cotabato. The public live in camp gathered high school, senior high school, and college students from schools within the Municipality of Surallah. HCCCI proudly sent 13 student participants, 2 from the Basic Education Department and 11 from the College Department, to represent the institution in this meaningful artistic engagement.

Anchored on the theme β€œAni ng Sining: Katotohanan at Giting,” the camp highlighted truth and courage as expressed through various art forms. Participants selected their respective sectors including Visual Arts, Dance, Music, Theatre, and Literary Arts, and immersed themselves in workshops, collaborative activities, and performances that strengthened their creativity and appreciation for culture.

Representing HCCCI were talented students who showcased their passion and skill. In Folk Dance, Joan Paraico, Mark Angelo Pabito, Candy Delos Reyes, and Jujen Grace Adante performed with grace and energy. For Song Writing, Mark Domalogdog and Angel Farrofo shared original musical pieces reflecting their artistry. In Plein Air Painting, Ameedelah Castillo, Nehemiah Charles Siason, Mark Angelo Dizon, Nycho Perez, Ruby Dordas, Clair Sajo, and Hanie June Mirafuentes captured scenes with creativity and depth. They were guided by Socio Cultural moderators Mr. Jan Kenneth Mendoza from the Basic Education Department, and Mr. Zaldy Mark Cerbo and Mr. Bon Bon Mallare from the College Department.

The program aimed to nurture young artists by providing hands on learning experiences that enhanced their technical skills and artistic confidence. It encouraged self expression, collaboration, discipline, and cultural appreciation, allowing students to grow not only as artists but also as socially aware individuals.

The event aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals. It supports SDG 4 Quality Education by promoting inclusive and holistic learning through arts enrichment. It contributes to SDG 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities by preserving cultural heritage and strengthening creative industries. It reflects SDG 5 Gender Equality by providing equal platforms for male and female artists to showcase their talents. It also connects with SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth by inspiring pathways in the creative sector, and SDG 16 Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions by encouraging artistic expression rooted in truth, courage, and responsible citizenship. Furthermore, it advances SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals by fostering collaboration between the local government of Surallah, participating schools, mentors, and community stakeholders in promoting arts and culture.

Through participation in the camp, students contributed to the cultural vibrancy of Surallah while gaining experiences that inspire them to share their talents in broader communities. The knowledge and values they developed promote cultural pride, unity, and creativity that influence society beyond the school setting.

Participants expressed joy, pride, and gratitude for being part of the camp. Many shared that the experience strengthened their confidence, deepened their love for the arts, and allowed them to build meaningful friendships with fellow young creatives. They described the camp as both inspiring and transformative.

HCCCI proudly celebrates its young artists as emerging cultural advocates and creative leaders who embody the spirit of β€œAni ng Sining: Katotohanan at Giting,” proving that through art, truth and courage continue to thrive and inspire.
