Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI), through its College of Computer Studies (CCS), deployed an in-house digital tabulation system to support the accurate, efficient, and transparent processing of competition results during the Search for Mr. and Ms. South Cotabato Provincial Athletic Association (SCPAA) 2026 on September 12, 2026, at the Norala National High School Gymnasium in Norala, South Cotabato.

The technical engagement brought together CCS faculty members and student tabulators who handled the event’s digital tabulation and technical operations, demonstrating how information technology expertise can be applied directly to the needs of a large-scale community event.

Carrying the theme “Unlocking the Future Through Sports,” the event highlighted sports as a platform for developing confidence, discipline, teamwork, and excellence. Supporting the competition with reliable digital systems added another dimension to the event, helping ensure that scores were systematically recorded, computed, and validated throughout the proceedings.

The HCCCI technical team included Marivic O. Baldon, MIT, LPT, Program Head of the College of Computer Studies; Jastine M. Gatdula, CCS Faculty and Tabulation System Developer; Angelo B. Habaradas, CCS Faculty; and Froilan R. Benosa, CCS Faculty. Student tabulators Emylene B. Alegre, Carlo C. Claud, France Gabriel B. Claveria, and Jeaneva Dela Rosa also participated in the technical operations.

Developed by the CCS, the custom digital tabulation system supported real-time recording, computation, and validation of competition scores. By organizing results systematically and streamlining the tabulation process, the system helped the technical team maintain accuracy, efficiency, and data integrity during the event.

For the participating students, the engagement provided an opportunity to move beyond theoretical learning and apply information technology competencies in an actual operational setting. Working in a live competition environment required technical proficiency, attention to detail, teamwork, and responsible data management, giving students practical experience in using technology to address real-world requirements.

The initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education by providing students with experiential learning and opportunities to develop workplace-relevant technical competencies. It advances SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure through the application of an HCCCI-developed digital system, while supporting SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions by promoting accurate, transparent, and accountable processing of competition results. The engagement also contributes to SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through HCCCI’s collaboration with the Department of Education – Schools Division of South Cotabato and the South Cotabato Provincial Athletic Association.

The SCPAA engagement demonstrates the practical value of connecting academic expertise, student learning, and community service. Technology becomes more meaningful when it addresses actual needs, while students gain stronger competencies when given opportunities to apply what they learn in settings where accuracy and responsibility matter.

Through the College of Computer Studies, HCCCI continues to develop technology-driven solutions while creating opportunities for students to learn through practice. The initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to innovation, applied learning, and responsive community engagement, showing how education and technology can work together to deliver reliable solutions and meaningful public service.
