The Criminology Department of Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. successfully celebrated Criminology Day 2026 on April 27–28, 2026 at the HCCCI Lobby. The two-day event gathered criminology students, faculty members, academic leaders, and stakeholders in a meaningful face-to-face celebration filled with learning, teamwork, and fellowship. With the theme, “Code of Brotherhood: Uniting Minds, Building Strength,” the activity highlighted the importance of unity, discipline, leadership, and cooperation among future criminologists and public servants.
The celebration aimed to strengthen not only the academic knowledge of the students but also their sense of responsibility, camaraderie, and service. The event opened with the Fun Run for Justice, followed by a symposium discussing newly implemented Republic Acts under the Philippine National Police. Students also actively participated in activities such as the Crime Scene Investigation Competition, Marching Competition, Mr. and Ms. Criminology Universe Reverse 2026, and Palarong Pinoy. Through these activities, students were able to showcase their talents, practical skills, teamwork, and creativity while enjoying the opportunity to bond with one another outside the classroom.
Several individuals played important roles in making the celebration successful. PMES Jerico T. Magbanua served as the guest speaker during the symposium and shared valuable insights about current laws and responsibilities in law enforcement. The program was also supported by Dr. Erwin M. Faller, Academic Director; Cesar Ian Azuelo, CCJE Governor; and Rosgicyl A. Mabolo, RCrim, CCJE Faculty member. Meanwhile, Wilson Toledo Jr., Hamdani Bocari, and Candy Delos Reyes led the invocation, representing different faiths and emphasizing unity and respect among participants. Faculty members, student leaders, and organizers also worked hand in hand to ensure the smooth flow of the event.
Throughout the two-day celebration, participants experienced a balanced combination of academic, physical, and social activities. The Crime Scene Investigation Competition allowed students to apply their analytical and investigative skills, while the Marching Competition emphasized discipline and teamwork. The symposium provided students with updated knowledge regarding newly implemented Republic Acts and law enforcement practices that are relevant to their future profession. At the same time, lighter activities such as Palarong Pinoy and the Mr. and Ms. Criminology Universe Reverse competition created an enjoyable atmosphere that encouraged confidence, sportsmanship, and stronger friendships among students. The event concluded with presentations, awarding ceremonies, and the recognition of outstanding participants and overall champions.
Criminology Day 2026 also reflected the institution’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event strongly supported SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions by promoting awareness of justice, ethical leadership, accountability, and responsible service. It also aligned with SDG 4: Quality Education by giving students opportunities for experiential learning through competitions, symposiums, and interactive activities that enhanced their knowledge and skills. Wellness activities such as the Fun Run for Justice supported SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, while the cooperation among students, faculty members, and stakeholders reflected the spirit of SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
Beyond the campus celebration, the event encouraged participants to become more aware of their roles in promoting peace, discipline, and public welfare. Activities that focused on teamwork, leadership, and service inspired students to become more responsible individuals who can contribute positively to society. The event also strengthened relationships among students, educators, and stakeholders while promoting values that encourage respect, cooperation, and active participation in programs that support justice and public safety.
Participants shared feelings of happiness, pride, and gratitude after the successful celebration. Many students expressed that the event allowed them to gain confidence, create stronger friendships, and discover skills they could further develop in their chosen field. Faculty members and organizers also felt fulfilled seeing the active participation, discipline, and enthusiasm of the students throughout the program. For many, Criminology Day 2026 became more than just a school activity—it became a memorable experience that strengthened their passion for service and leadership.
Through activities like Criminology Day 2026, Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. continues to serve as a strong advocate of quality education and values-driven leadership, shaping future criminology professionals who are prepared to uphold peace, justice, integrity, and public service.
