Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI), through its Center for Innovation and Robotics Initiative (CiRi), proudly hosted Robotics Week 2025, a week-long celebration of innovation, creativity, and applied technology held from October 21 to 25, 2025. The event gathered 14 student groups from the elementary, junior high, and senior high school departments, offering hands-on opportunities to explore the world of robotics and programming in an engaging and competitive environment.

Robotics Week opened the doors to the fascinating world of designing, coding, and operating robots. Using the VEX IQ platform, students designed, programmed, and operated their robots through a series of challenges that tested logic, creativity, and teamwork. Each participant took on rotating roles—programmer, builder, or driver—allowing them to experience every stage of robot development, from coding and construction to performance and precision.

Guided by Mr. Harold Casiro, Head of Robotics, and Mr. Jenson Teves, Robotics Trainer for HCCCI Basic Education, the participants showcased their skills in building and coding challenges. Engr. Edicio M. Faller, the Designated IT and Robotics Consultant of HCCCI also delivered an inspirational message to the participants, encouraging them to embrace curiosity, pursue excellence, and use technology as a tool for innovation and social advancement.

The week-long competition featured three major challenges: Defend the Castle, where robots infiltrated the opponent’s base to retrieve blocks; Keep It Goal, a head-to-head match to control and score a single ball; and B-Claw in the Borderland, where robots collected and delivered scattered resources to safe zones.

At the conclusion of the event, the Chunky Group was hailed as the Robotics Week 2025 Champion. The winning team—composed of Jhune Rhee Villaruel (Grade 10), Ramchel Angelo Rabaca (Grade 7), and Prince Jhune Villaruel (Grade 5)—showcased outstanding creativity, teamwork, and technical mastery throughout the series of challenges.

This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, underscoring the importance of accessible, technology-based learning and the development of future innovators.

Robotics Week serves not only as a platform for innovation and creativity but also as part of HCCCI’s preparation for the Robotics National Competition this November 2025, further strengthening students’ technical abilities, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through hands-on learning experiences.

Looking ahead, Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. remains committed to advancing innovation, collaboration, and hands-on learning experiences anchored in its core values of excellence, integrity, and service.

Ultimately, HCCCI champions creativity, innovation, and holistic education—shaping learners who will lead the future of technology and discovery through imagination, intelligence, and purpose.
