Following their initial visitation and institutional familiarization at Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI), the delegation from the Singapore Education Consulting Group (SECG) continued its engagement with the institution through a more focused series of discussions on professional development, educational technology, digital learning, academic resource development, and potential areas of institutional cooperation.
The succeeding activities provided an opportunity to move from institutional familiarization to deeper academic and strategic dialogue, allowing the Singaporean education leaders to gain a more comprehensive understanding of HCCCIโs learning environment while engaging with HCCCI administrators and representatives of its partner institutions on areas of mutual interest.
The SECG delegation was composed of Dr. Natarajan Varaprasad, Founding Principal and CEO of Temasek Polytechnic and Founding Partner of the Singapore Education Consulting Group; Mr. Edmund Lim, Principal Consultant and Partner of SECG; and Dr. Ramanathan Subramaniam, educator, academic, and researcher from the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
As a continuation of their campus visitation, the delegation proceeded with a more extensive tour of HCCCIโs academic, technology, and laboratory facilities. The visit included the Smart Classroom and iLab, where digital platforms, technology-enabled instruction, and collaborative learning environments were presented.
The delegation also visited the Computer Laboratory and Robotics Laboratory, providing a closer view of HCCCIโs facilities supporting information technology, robotics, and applied technological learning. The visitation continued at the Nursing Complex, Biology Laboratories, and Chemistry Laboratories, where the delegation was introduced to facilities supporting health sciences education, scientific instruction, and practical academic training.
The extended facility visitation gave the delegation a broader perspective of how HCCCI connects classroom instruction with technology, laboratory experience, practical training, and applied learning. It also provided a concrete context for the discussions that followed, particularly those concerning professional training, educational technology, digital content, and academic resource development.
The engagement then proceeded to a focused discussion on training needs and professional development, bringing together representatives from SECG, HCCCI, and its partner institutions. Joining Dr. Natarajan Varaprasad and Dr. Ramanathan Subramaniam were Engr. Edicio Faller, IT and Robotics Consultant; HCCCI Executive Vice President Vanessa Marie L. Antiquin, MMEM; HCCCI Academic Director Dr. Erwin M. Faller; Santo Nino College Foundation, Inc. (SNCFI) Academic Director Dr. Jun Y. Badie; New Hope School of Agriculture and Fishery, Inc. (NHSAFI) Academic Director Dr. Rogelio Rasay; and Director of International Relations and External Affairs Jack Robin A. Lacerna, MMEM.
The discussion examined areas where professional training, capacity-building, and knowledge exchange may support the continuing development of educators and academic institutions. Particular areas of interest included technology-enabled instruction, digital learning, robotics, laboratory-based education, and the development of academic resources responsive to contemporary learning needs.
The succeeding engagement also included a formal meeting with the HCCCI Board of Trustees, represented by Sir Nathaniel Caballero and Sir Darrell S. Caballero. The meeting provided an institutional platform for further dialogue on potential areas of academic cooperation, knowledge development, and digital learning, building on the discussions held during the delegationโs continuing visitation.
Among the specific matters discussed were the Book Project and Learning Management System (LMS) Content Development. The Book Project presents an opportunity to develop academic resources that may contribute to knowledge-sharing and institutional learning, while the LMS discussion focused on developing structured and relevant digital content to support contemporary teaching and learning.
The delegationโs continuing engagement also extended to the broader regional higher education sector through a courtesy call at CHED Regional Office XII, providing an additional avenue for dialogue on higher education development, internationalization, and possible academic engagement.
The sequence of activities reflected a progression in the delegationโs visitโfrom institutional familiarization and campus visitation to professional dialogue, leadership-level engagement, and exploration of potential areas for cooperation. Through the extended visit, the SECG representatives gained a closer understanding of HCCCIโs academic environment, while HCCCI and its partner institutions were able to engage directly with Singaporean education professionals on training, technology, digital learning, and academic resource development.
The engagement supports Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through its emphasis on professional development, educational innovation, technology-enabled learning, practical training, and institutional cooperation.
For HCCCI, the continuation of the SECG delegationโs visit demonstrates how an international institutional encounter can develop progressivelyโfrom an initial introduction and campus familiarization into more substantive conversations about academic needs, professional capacity-building, technology, and possible collaborative initiatives.
As the engagement moves forward, the discussions on the Book Project, LMS Content Development, professional training, educational technology, and capacity-building provide potential areas for continued communication between HCCCI and SECG. The succeeding activities therefore build on the delegationโs initial visitation and further connect international expertise with HCCCIโs ongoing efforts in academic development, digital learning, professional development, and innovation.
