Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) continued its participation in the Higher Education Partnerships Conference (HEPCON) 2026 on its second and concluding day on October 2, 2026, at the Radisson Blu Cebu, joining higher education institutions, government agencies, and international education partners in discussions and activities focused on internationalization, academic partnerships, innovation, and emerging directions in higher education.
Representing HCCCI were School President Marivet S. Caballero, Executive Vice President Vanessa Marie L. Antiquin, and Academic Director Dr. Erwin M. Faller. Their participation brought HCCCIโs institutional leadership into a regional higher education platform where institutions and organizations exchanged perspectives and explored opportunities for cooperation.
A major activity on the concluding day was the HEPCON Booth and Partnership Fair, which provided participating institutions with a dedicated space to present their academic programs, institutional initiatives, areas of expertise, and potential areas for collaboration. The fair also created opportunities for delegates to meet directly with representatives of other institutions and organizations and discuss possible partnerships.
For HCCCI, the Partnership Fair provided a practical setting for institutional networking and partnership development. The delegation engaged with participating organizations, exchanged information about institutional initiatives, and explored areas of mutual interest that may potentially develop into academic, professional, or institutional collaborations.
The booth engagement also allowed HCCCI to communicate its continuing work in internationalization, academic exchange, COIL, faculty and student development, research, and institutional partnerships. Rather than simply presenting institutional information, the activity provided an opportunity for direct conversations with organizations and institutions that may share similar interests and priorities.
The concluding day also featured discussions on the evolving ASEAN Higher Education Area, including sessions on international partnerships, campus internationalization, student mobility, and the role of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning. These discussions provided HCCCIโs representatives with perspectives on emerging trends and approaches that may inform the institutionโs continuing academic and internationalization initiatives.
The combination of conference discussions and direct partnership engagement provided a broader learning experience for the HCCCI delegation. While the sessions offered perspectives on regional developments, the Partnership Fair created an avenue to translate those conversations into direct institutional encounters and explore how shared interests may lead to future cooperation.
The conference also featured an education exhibition, where universities and industry partners presented academic programs, research initiatives, educational technologies, and other innovations. The exhibition provided HCCCI with opportunities to learn about developments in higher education and examine practices and technologies that may be relevant to future institutional initiatives.
HCCCIโs participation aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through the exchange of educational practices and perspectives; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, through engagement with educational technology, innovation, and AI-related developments; SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, through broader participation in international academic exchange; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through institutional networking and the development of potential areas for sustained cooperation.
For HCCCI, the concluding day of HEPCON 2026 demonstrated the value of combining learning, institutional representation, and direct partnership-building in one platform. The conversations and connections established during the Partnership Fair and conference activities may provide starting points for further discussions as HCCCI continues to develop its academic and international partnerships.
The conclusion of HEPCON 2026 marks another engagement for HCCCI in the wider higher education community. Through continued participation in platforms that bring together Philippine and international institutions, HCCCI continues to listen, learn, share its institutional experiences, and explore partnerships that may create meaningful opportunities for its students, faculty, academic programs, and partner institutions.
