Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) took an active step in strengthening its wellness and engagement programs by joining the South Cotabato Koronadal Athletic Association (SCKAA) Inter-School Faculty and Personnel Volleyball Tournament, which formally opened on September 22, 2025, at the NDMU Gymnasium, Koronadal City. This initiative marks a milestone for the school as it intentionally opens avenues for its faculty and administrators to participate in activities that go beyond the academic and administrative routine.
In its first match, HCCCI secured a win against Marbel School of Science and Technology (MSST). Representing the institution with pride and determination were Aljan Dapitan, Christian Kyle Pineda, John Lucas Frac, Mark Anthony Gevero, Siegfred Escamilla, Francis Galanida, Francis Jay Tipon, Michael Bayon-on, Jeffrey Pastellero, and Ruzty Donaire. Their teamwork and enthusiasm reflected not only athletic skill but also the strength of community spirit within HCCCI.
The school emphasizes that this engagement is not limited to sports alone. By involving both faculty and administrators, HCCCI ensures that wellness is integrated into the life of its workforce, acknowledging that healthy, motivated, and socially connected educators and staff are essential to sustaining quality education. The tournament becomes a venue where colleagues can build camaraderie, release stress, and foster mutual supportโvalues that eventually ripple back into the classroom and workplace.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this initiative underscores SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, by promoting active and balanced lifestyles, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening inter-school collaboration through shared activities. More than competition, the tournament reflects a regional effort to unite schools under a common purpose of holistic development.
Looking ahead, HCCCI is committed to sustaining wellness initiatives like this. The administration sees the SCKAA tournament as a platform to continually engage its people, not only through sports but also through future programs in health, recreation, and professional growth. For HCCCI, wellness is not a one-time event but a culture it seeks to nurture among its faculty, staff, and administrators.
The teamโs next game is scheduled for September 24, 2025, and regardless of the result, HCCCI views every match as a victory for wellness, engagement, and the strengthening of a vibrant academic community.
