𝐇𝐂𝐂𝐂𝐈 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐆𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐚

Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) continued to advance its internationalization agenda through an institutional visit to Sunway University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as part of its ongoing commitment to benchmarking internationally recognized higher education institutions and learning from global best practices. Representing the institution were Marivet S. Caballero, School President; Nathaniel C. Caballero, Member of the Board of Trustees; Vanessa Marie L. Antiquin, MMEM, Executive Vice President; and Dr. Erwin M. Faller, Academic Director. The visit provided the delegation with valuable opportunities to observe innovative academic environments, research facilities, and educational practices that may further enrich HCCCI’s continuing pursuit of academic excellence.

The university visit reflected HCCCI’s commitment to continuous institutional learning, quality assurance, and educational innovation. By engaging with internationally recognized universities, the institution seeks to gain meaningful insights into effective teaching and learning practices, research development, academic governance, student support services, and learning environments that can inspire future institutional initiatives while remaining responsive to the evolving landscape of global higher education.

The HCCCI delegation was warmly welcomed by Professor Raja Affendi Raja Ali, Dean and Professor of the Faculty of Medical and Life Sciences; Professor Long Ming, Professor and Associate Dean for Research and Postgraduate Studies; and Professor Dr. Khatijah Lim Abdullah, Head of the School of Nursing. Their gracious hospitality reflected the shared commitment of higher education institutions to fostering academic goodwill, professional exchange, and mutual learning across borders.

During the visit, the delegation toured selected academic buildings, research laboratories, specialized learning facilities, simulation centers, and collaborative learning spaces across the university. The experience provided valuable exposure to Sunway University’s learner-centered environment, research infrastructure, and innovative educational resources, offering practical insights that may inform HCCCI’s continuing efforts to strengthen academic programs, enhance student learning experiences, and cultivate a culture of innovation and excellence.

The engagement likewise advanced the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting institutional learning, academic excellence, and continuous quality improvement; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, by providing exposure to innovative educational and research ecosystems that support scientific advancement and technological innovation; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by fostering international academic engagement, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among higher education institutions.


Beyond observing educational facilities, the visit highlighted the value of international academic benchmarking as a catalyst for institutional growth and continuous improvement. The knowledge, perspectives, and best practices gained from the experience reinforced HCCCI’s commitment to enhancing teaching, research, innovation, and student development through informed decision-making and globally inspired educational practices.


The delegation likewise expressed its sincere appreciation to the leadership and academic community of Sunway University for their warm hospitality and the opportunity to gain meaningful insights into the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, research, and innovation. The visit strengthened HCCCI’s resolve to continuously pursue excellence by learning from respected institutions that share a passion for transformative education.
