Grade 11 STEM student Xhyrhyll Jay C. Bago brought HCCCI’s Basic Education Department to the international stage through his participation in the 4th UNISBA Global Student Motion (UGEO) 2026 at Universitas Islam Bandung (UNISBA), Indonesia, gaining firsthand experience in global learning, cultural exchange, and international collaboration.

As one of HCCCI’s young delegates, Bago joined students from different academic and cultural backgrounds in academic sessions, collaborative activities, campus engagements, and cultural exchanges. The experience allowed him to exchange ideas beyond his regular classroom environment while developing a broader appreciation of diverse perspectives and communities.

For a STEM learner, the international exposure provided opportunities to strengthen competencies that extend beyond technical knowledge. Through interaction and collaboration with fellow participants, Bago developed communication, critical thinking, teamwork, adaptability, and problem-solving skills while exploring how STEM education can be connected to global perspectives and real-world experiences. His participation also marked an important step in his development as a young global learner and future STEM professional.

Engaging with students from different countries helped build his confidence, intercultural awareness, and ability to work within diverse environments—competencies increasingly relevant in a globally connected academic and professional landscape. Bago’s UGEO experience reflects HCCCI’s approach to internationalization beginning at the learner level, creating opportunities for students to encounter different cultures, perspectives, and learning environments while still developing their academic foundations.

The initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through inclusive and experiential learning; SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, through intercultural engagement and access to international learning opportunities; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through connections among students and educational institutions across borders. Through programs such as UGEO 2026, HCCCI continues to expand opportunities for its learners to represent, connect, collaborate, and learn beyond borders, preparing students from the Basic Education Department for a future shaped by global knowledge, technological advancement, and intercultural collaboration.
