In an era defined by rapid technological advancement and rising cyber threats, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) South Cotabato took a proactive step toward shaping a more digitally resilient generation. On October 22, 2025, the DICT successfully conducted a learning session on Cybersecurity Awareness and Introduction to Artificial Intelligence for the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) and Bachelor of Science in Criminology students of Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) โ€“ Surallah.

The initiative aimed to strengthen studentsโ€™ understanding of digital safety, responsible online behavior, and the expanding role of Artificial Intelligence in modern societyโ€”particularly in areas such as technology development, digital ethics, and crime prevention. The session emphasized that building a cyber-aware mindset among students is key to ensuring a safer, smarter, and more inclusive digital future.

Through this program, the DICT South Cotabato underscored its commitment to nurturing a generation equipped not only with technical knowledge but also with the ethical awareness to navigate an increasingly connected world. The collaboration between DICT and HCCI reflects the shared goal of bridging education, technology, and governance to address the challenges of the digital age.

This initiative is closely aligned with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by providing accessible, future-oriented learning opportunities; SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by preparing students for technology-driven careers; SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by fostering innovation and digital advancement; SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by promoting safer and smarter digital communities; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening collaboration between institutions for sustainable development.

Through continuous digital education and awareness programs, DICT South Cotabato and Holy Child Central Colleges reaffirm their dedication to building a society where technology empowers, innovation uplifts, and security safeguards the promise of progress.
