GLASGOW, SCOTLAND — The leadership delegation of Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) has arrived in Glasgow, Scotland, ahead of the European Association for International Education (EAIE) 2026, scheduled for September 8–11, 2026, for a week of international engagement focused on higher education collaboration, academic exchange, and global learning opportunities.

Representing HCCCI are Marivet S. Caballero, School President; Vanessa Marie L. Antiquin, Executive Vice President; and Roelof Van Buren, Internationalization Officer. The delegation will take part in the conference and engage with higher education institutions and internationalization practitioners from different countries.

HCCCI’s participation is particularly notable as the only Philippine institution featured among the FEDE member institutions represented at EAIE 2026. Since joining FEDE in 2024, HCCCI has continued to learn from and engage with institutions within the network, broadening its understanding of international higher education and identifying areas for academic cooperation.

At EAIE 2026, the delegation will explore opportunities in student mobility, faculty exchange, research collaboration, institutional cooperation, and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). These areas are directly relevant to HCCCI’s efforts to provide students and faculty with wider academic experiences and strengthen the international dimension of its programs.

Importantly, the value of the conference extends beyond those attending. Insights, practices, and connections gained in Glasgow can be translated into initiatives within HCCCI, supporting faculty development, student mobility, international learning activities, research, and academic programming. In this way, participation becomes part of a broader institutional learning process rather than a standalone international engagement.

HCCCI will also bring its growing network of partner schools from across the Philippines into its broader internationalization efforts. By sharing knowledge and exploring opportunities through this network, HCCCI aims to help extend the benefits of global engagement to partner institutions and contribute to stronger collaboration within Philippine higher education.

For an institution based in South Cotabato, this approach gives internationalization a practical purpose: connecting global opportunities with local learners, educators, and communities. It also supports HCCCI’s effort to make international learning more accessible to students and faculty who may otherwise have limited opportunities to engage with the global higher education community.

The initiative contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education through international and experiential learning; SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities through broader access to global educational opportunities; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through sustained academic cooperation across borders.
