The Physical Education teachers of Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. participated in the 2026 International Physical Education Convention (IPEC) held from May 5 to 9, 2026, at the University of Southeastern Philippines and Lyceum of the Philippines UniversityโDavao, with the theme, โElevating Philippine Physical Education: Leading Innovation, Impact, and Excellence on the Global Stage.โ The convention gathered educators, coaches, sports professionals, and wellness advocates from across the country for a week of professional learning and collaboration focused on advancing physical education and sports development.
Representing the institution were Christian Kyle C. Pineda and Maria Clarisse G. Abrao, who actively participated in seminars, workshops, certification programs, and collaborative learning sessions designed to strengthen professional competencies and introduce innovative practices in physical education, sports science, and holistic wellness.
The event featured distinguished speakers and experts in the field of physical education and sports science. On Day 1, Dr. Aaron Beigle discussed Dynamic Physical Education: Embrace Change, Establish a Brand, while Mr. Milton Williams highlighted Physical Education and Sports: Elevating and Empowering the Human Spirit. Dr. Jonathan Cagas presented The Philippine Report Card on Physical Activity for Children and Adolescents, and Ms. Maia Higashi introduced From Measurement to Insight: Reimagining Physical Fitness with ALPHA.
On Day 3, Coach Noli Ayo emphasized the importance of hydration and youth development through the Pocari Sweat: Live Your Dream Project. Mr. Tomotsuna Inoue introduced Data-Driven Movement Intelligence, while Mr. Williams further discussed strengthening PE instruction for Filipino student-athletes. Paolo Alan B. Tabar, PTRP, MD, FPOA, FPSHs explored the intersection of sports medicine and physical education in Beyond the Whistle, and Atty. Alberto C. Agra provided insights into Sports Law and Physical Education.
The convention supports Sustainable Development Goal 3, which promotes good health and well-being through active lifestyles and improved physical education practices. It also aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4 by strengthening quality education through professional development and innovative teaching strategies. In addition, it reflects Sustainable Development Goal 17 by fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among educators, institutions, and experts in the field of physical education and sports.
The participation of the delegates reinforced the institutionโs commitment to professional growth, innovation, and excellence in physical education. Through the knowledge and experiences gained from the convention, the participants are expected to contribute to the enhancement of school programs, student engagement, and wellness initiatives within the community.
