Lady Nathalie A. Alinas, a third-year Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy student of Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI), earned the Best Video – Educational Content: Science and Technology award during Vision UNISBA 2026, recognizing her innovative approach to presenting pharmacy research through digital media.

Vision UNISBA 2026 provided students with an international platform to communicate academic and research work through creative and accessible digital formats. The program encouraged participants to transform scholarly ideas into engaging content that can reach audiences beyond conventional academic settings.

Alinas presented her research entitled “Factors Affecting Medication Non-Adherence Among Geriatric Hypertensive Patients in Barangay Rizal, Poblacion, Banga, South Cotabato.” The study addressed an important healthcare concern involving medication adherence among older adults with hypertension and demonstrated the application of her pharmacy education to a relevant community health issue.

For her entry, Alinas transformed her research into a TikTok educational video, using short-form digital storytelling to communicate key information about the factors associated with medication non-adherence among geriatric hypertensive patients. Her approach demonstrated how scientific research can be communicated through platforms familiar to younger audiences while maintaining its educational purpose.

The recognition highlights the ability of HCCCI students to combine research, professional knowledge, creativity, and digital communication. Rather than limiting research communication to traditional academic formats, Alinas demonstrated how emerging digital platforms can be used to make scientific information more engaging, understandable, and accessible.

Her achievement also reflects the growing importance of digital literacy among future healthcare professionals.
