The face-to-face meeting gathered presidents, deans, officers-in-charge, and program heads from higher education institutions across Region XII offering Criminal Justice Education programs, creating a space for shared direction and coordination among academic leaders.
The meeting served as a venue for strengthening cooperation among institutions that deliver Criminal Justice Education (CJE). It also provided an opportunity for leaders to discuss common challenges in curriculum implementation, governance, and program improvement, especially in response to the changing needs of the justice and public safety sectors.
Among those present was Mr. Jugos along with fellow deans and program heads from the region. The session was guided by Rody P. Garcia represented by Sir Danstone Guy P. Conversations centered on improving program relevance, strengthening institutional systems, and ensuring that Criminal Justice Education (CJE) remains responsive to real-world demands in law enforcement, public safety, and justice administration.
The council meeting aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting continuous improvement in higher education. It also supports SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by helping prepare competent, ethical, and service-driven professionals for the justice sector. In addition, it reflects SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through stronger collaboration among institutions and CHEDRO XII in advancing shared academic goals.
Beyond policy discussions and formal proceedings, the gathering helped build stronger working relationships among institutions and encouraged a more unified approach to improving CJE. This kind of collaboration helps ensure that students are equipped with the knowledge, values, and skills they need as future professionals in the field.
In his message after being elected, the program head expressed gratitude for the trust given to him by fellow academic leaders. He shared his commitment to serve with transparency and dedication, highlighting the importance of working together to strengthen CJE in the region.
