Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI), through its Basic Education Department, welcomed children from the Nurturing Care Development Center (NCDC) to the HCCCI Basic Education Department – Campus 2 for a meaningful learning experience that combined literacy, cultural interaction, and wellness. The activity formed part of the Cultural Experience and Interaction Program, which aimed to provide young learners with enriching opportunities beyond the classroom while fostering social development and cultural appreciation.

One of the highlights of the event was the feeding activity conducted by the visiting guests from Singapore. Through this simple yet meaningful gesture, the guests shared not only nourishment but also kindness, compassion, and a spirit of community with the children. The activity created a warm and welcoming atmosphere where learners experienced firsthand the values of generosity, friendship, and cultural exchange. The interaction encouraged the children to engage confidently with visitors from another country while learning about different cultures in a fun and child-friendly environment.

Complementing the feeding activity was an engaging reading session facilitated by the HCCCI Basic Education Department through its Book Nook initiative. Supported by a collection of books and learning materials, the session provided young learners with meaningful opportunities to explore stories, strengthen literacy skills, and develop a love for reading. Through storytelling, guided reading, and interactive discussions, the children were encouraged to express their ideas, enhance comprehension, and nurture their imagination in a fun and supportive environment. The activity highlighted the importance of accessible reading resources in fostering curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning, reflecting Book Nook’s continuing commitment to promoting literacy and educational growth within the community.

It aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education by providing reading activities and storytelling sessions that enhanced literacy skills, encouraged creativity, and promoted foundational learning among young learners. The program also advances SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities by creating inclusive learning opportunities and fostering meaningful interactions between children and individuals from different cultural backgrounds, promoting respect for diversity and cultural understanding. Furthermore, it contributes to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being through the feeding activity, which supports the nutritional needs of the children and emphasizes the importance of proper nutrition and healthy development during early childhood. Lastly, the initiative exemplifies SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, as the collaboration among Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI), the Nurturing Care Development Center (NCDC), the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), and the Singaporean guests demonstrated how strong partnerships can create meaningful educational, cultural, and developmental opportunities that positively impact the lives of young learners.
