The HCCCI Basic Education Summer Reading Enrichment Program 2026 was conducted from May 18 to May 29, 2026, at the HCCCI Basic Education Department. The program was participated in by Kindergarten to Senior High School students of Holy Child Central Colleges Inc. (HCCCI), together with the HCCCI Basic Education Faculty and Book Nook personnel, in a structured summer learning setting designed to enhance reading and literacy engagement.

The program was organized to provide learners with an enriching and interactive academic experience during the summer break. It aimed to strengthen studentsโ reading comprehension, communication abilities, creativity, digital literacy, and collaborative skills through guided and interactive learning activities. The initiative also sought to cultivate a positive learning environment that encourages continuous academic growth beyond the regular school year. The individuals involved in the program include the HCCCI Basic Education Faculty, students from Kindergarten to Senior High School, and personnel from Book Nook Surallah of the National Book Development Board. Their combined efforts ensured the smooth implementation of the programโs activities and the delivery of meaningful learning experiences for the students.

The program featured a variety of learning activities such as storytelling sessions, educational games, creative workshops, digital and multimedia presentations, and collaborative group tasks. These activities were designed to integrate traditional literacy development with modern, technology-assisted learning approaches. Through these experiences, students were encouraged to actively participate, express creativity, and develop essential 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and responsible use of digital tools.

The program aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting inclusive and equitable learning opportunities that enhance literacy and lifelong learning. It also supports Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through its collaboration with Book Nook Surallah of the National Book Development Board, demonstrating the importance of partnerships in strengthening educational initiatives.

Beyond the school setting, the program contributes to the broader development of a culture that values reading and continuous learning. By engaging students in interactive and meaningful literacy activities, it encourages a stronger appreciation for education and supports the development of responsible and informed learners who can contribute positively to society through their skills and knowledge. Participants of the program expressed positive engagement and appreciation for the interactive approach of the activities. Students found the sessions enjoyable and motivating, while facilitators noted the enthusiasm and active participation of learners throughout the program. The collaborative setup also fostered a supportive learning atmosphere that made the experience both productive and meaningful for all involved.

Overall, the HCCCI Basic Education Summer Reading Enrichment Program 2026 reflects HCCCIโs role as a driver of innovative and student-centered education, continuously strengthening literacy development and academic enrichment through purposeful partnerships and responsive learning programs.
