Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) recently participated in the World Skills ASEAN 2025 Summit, held last August 26–28 in Manila. The summit brought together educational institutions across ASEAN member countries to explore the latest trends in robotics, information technology, and skills development. For HCCCI, the event served as a vital platform to advance its commitment to innovation while aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Quality Education (SDG 4), Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
At HCCCI, robotics is not viewed merely as a technical subject but as a pathway to inclusive, future-ready education. By integrating robotics into its curriculum, the college empowers students to develop critical thinking, creativity, and technical expertise—ensuring that learning remains relevant to the 21st-century workforce while creating meaningful impact in their communities. This reflects HCCCI’s belief that innovation should be inclusive, especially for its diverse student body, a significant portion of whom come from indigenous and Muslim communities in Mindanao.
For Information Technology (IT) students in particular, robotics integration represents a crucial next step. The convergence of programming, automation, artificial intelligence, and systems design highlights the need for IT professionals who can work across disciplines. By investing in facilities and partnerships now, HCCCI ensures its students are prepared with globally relevant skills that enhance employability and innovation in the digital economy.
A highlight of HCCCI’s participation was its initial discussions with Hytec Power, a leader in robotics and advanced manufacturing. This potential collaboration could provide HCCCI students from IT, Electronics, and TESDA-accredited programs with opportunities for internships and on-the-job training in Spain and Italy. This initiative aligns with HCCCI’s mission of building concrete pathways for students to access world-class training and exposure.
The event was also attended by Sir Reyan F. Antiquin, Operations Manager of Classify, Inc., HCCCI’s trusted IT provider. Classify, Inc. has been instrumental in powering the college’s Learning Management System (LMS) and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) platform, enabling HCCCI to deliver quality education and internationalized learning experiences. Their presence at the summit emphasized the critical role of academic-industry partnerships in building resilient, inclusive, and technology-driven education systems.
Through these initiatives, HCCCI envisions nurturing not only technically skilled graduates but also globally competent, socially responsible leaders who value sustainability and cultural diversity. By bridging local talent with international expertise, the college continues to reinforce its mission of delivering the best possible education through Smart Classrooms, Innovative Laboratories, Robotics Labs, and global collaborations.
Looking ahead, HCCCI remains steadfast in pursuing Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound (SMART) initiatives that align institutional progress with global priorities. Each step forward reflects its genuine commitment to uplifting communities, expanding access to knowledge, and shaping a future where education drives both local empowerment and international connection.
For HCCCI, participation in the World Skills ASEAN 2025 Summit was not just about attending a regional event—it marked a determined stride toward becoming a future-ready institution. By investing in infrastructure and partnerships, the college is preparing to develop a generation of students who are technologically skilled, globally competitive, and socially responsible, ready to harness IT and robotics as tools for sustainable progress.
